Our Story

From Self-Defense to Soul Building

A journey of physical and spiritual empowerment, finding a new home in Hadera.

Magen Hamelekh began as a unique school dedicated to teaching self-defense to frum Jews. In response to a rise in antisemitic incidents, Rabbi Dovid—known as "The Tattoo Rabbi"—recognized the urgent need for a kosher, Torah-guided environment where Jews could gain the confidence to protect themselves.

After years of teaching martial arts across the US, Rabbi Dovid and his wife Myriam embarked on a new mission: expanding this vision of protection to include the spiritual dimension, finding the perfect home in Hadera, Israel.

"What made Hadera truly stand out was the absence of an established English-speaking Jewish community, and the opportunity to create one."

Building from the Ground Up

As Shliach for English-speaking Jews in Hadera, the mission has expanded beyond the dojo. We are building the first Chabad House for this community—a place of warmth, Torah, and connection.
