The Shluchim

Rabbi Dovid & Myriam

Meet the Shluchim of Chabad English Hadera — building a spiritual home for English-speaking Jews on Israel's beautiful coast.

Our Journey

From America to Hadera

Rabbi Dovid Braslawsce — known to many as "The Tattoo Rabbi" — began his journey in an unlikely place: the martial arts world. A skilled instructor, he founded Magen Hamelekh (Shield of the King) as a kosher self-defense program for frum Jews across America.

But Rabbi Dovid's vision always extended beyond physical protection. Together with his wife Myriam, he dreamed of building something greater: a community where physical strength and spiritual depth go hand in hand.

When the calling came to establish a Chabad presence in Hadera for the growing English-speaking community, Rabbi Dovid and Myriam knew it was their mission.

Every Jew who walks through our door is family. Our mission is simple: to share the warmth of Torah, the joy of Yiddishkeit, and the power of community with every person we meet.

Meet Rabbi Dovid

Rabbi Dovid brings a unique background to his Shlichus. A ba'al teshuva himself, he understands the journey of discovery and growth firsthand. His path through martial arts taught him discipline, focus, and the importance of both physical and spiritual strength.

Before coming to Israel, Rabbi Dovid taught self-defense to Jewish communities across America, always integrating Torah values into his teaching. His approach attracted Jews from all backgrounds — from chassidim to secular, from students to professionals.

Today in Hadera, Rabbi Dovid leads Shabbat services, teaches Torah classes, and is always available for one-on-one learning. His warmth and authenticity make everyone feel welcome, regardless of their background or level of observance.

What Rabbi Dovid Offers:
  • Personal Torah study (chavrusa)
  • Lifecycle guidance (bris, bar mitzvah, marriage)
  • Jewish life counseling
  • Tefillin and mezuzah services
